Well, I guess she wasn’t just bumping her gumbs. She meant business. She has taken action  and there are currently 4 openings on the reality TV spin-off.

“Basketball Wives: L.A.” axed four of its six cast members — and TMZ has learned the catalyst was when Gloria Govan shut producers out of her nuptials to L.A. Lakers star Matt Barnes.

Sources connected to the show tell TMZ the producers are getting rid of Gloria, Laura Govan, Malaysia Pargo and Brooke Bailey because the wives, especially Gloria, weren’t allowing “all of their reality to be filmed.”

I have learned that, the breaking point came when Gloria (who is known for her feisty ways) jetted off to Vegas to marry Barnes — and didn’t even let the show know about it. Our sources say the producers felt extremely disrespected by her actions and made the decision to clean house.

  I have also found  out that  the producers haven’t told the wives they’re getting fired yet, but are already looking for new women to fill their spots.

Draya Michele and Jackie Christie will be the only returning members.

Man Falls To Death Trying To Escape Bee Attack

A US hiker has died after he fell 150ft off a cliff after trying to escape being attacked by a swarm of bees.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene in the Echo Canyon area of Camelback Mountain, in Phoenix.

Two other hikers were airlifted out after each was stung about 300 times.

Swarm of bees attacks mother and six children, Las Vegas

According to the Clark County Fire Department, fire crews responded to the bee attack at the intersection of Marion Drive and Alto Avenue.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a mother and six children suffering from multiple bee stings - the youngest being 18 months old. One family member suffered more than one dozen stings. The father was unharmed.

40 injured in giant honeybee attack, India

At least 40 people, including ten children, were attacked by a swarm of giant honeybees or rock bees while they were engaged in Bakrid prayers at the Idga Maidan at Saraguru village in the taluk on Saturday.

The injured were rushed to the district hospital for treatment. Kesanbulla Sharif, Suhaib Sharif, Syed Ifta Khan, Syed Mujaid, Saeer, Rahem Sharif, Syed Ali and Syed Hussain, were all seriously injured, but were discharged after treatment.

Lattimore, considered one of if not the top running back for next year's NFL Draft had he decided to come out a year early, was running to his left. Tennessee defensive back Eric Gordon tackled him low, and Lattimore's leg collapsed. When he went down, replays showed what clearly looked like a dislocation in his leg. It was a terrible injury that will be remembered alongside Joe Theismann, Napoleon McCallum, Tyrone Prothro and many other grisly injuries that serve as a reminder how violent football can be.

Natina Reed hit and killed by car in Georgia

 Natina Reed, a member of the R&B singing trio Blaque, was struck and killed by a car as she walked in a major roadway in Georgia, police said on Saturday.

Reed, who also appeared in the cheerleader movie "Bring It On" in 2000, would have turned 33 on Sunday.

She was struck by a car at about 10:30 p.m. Friday on a state highway just north of the Atlanta suburb of Lilburn, Gwinnett County Police Sergeant Rich Long said.

The car's driver called 911 and a passenger performed CPR but Reed was pronounced dead at an area medical centre, police said. Authorities ruled the driver was not at fault and no charges were expected to be filed, Long said.

Investigators were trying to determine why Reed was in the road, Long said.

As part of Blaque, Reed performed the 1999 hits "Bring It All to Me" and "808" with fellow members Shamari Fears DeVoe and Brandi Williams.

Reed's fellow group members said in a statement on Saturday that Blaque had recently reunited and the group was working on an album and a reality show.

"My world as I know it has forever changed," DeVoe said on Twitter on Saturday. "Until we meet again, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel. I love you Natina."

Gunmen opens fire in College Park Church

Police say one person was critically wounded when a gunman opened fire inside the chapel of a Georgia megachurch just south of Atlanta.

Fulton County Police Cpl. Kay Lester says the suspect got away in a vehicle, and was still at large around 11 a.m. Wednesday after the shooting at World Changers Church International.

The church is one of the nation's largest. It is led by the Rev. Creflo Dollar, its founder and senior pastor. There was no indication that he was injured.

Lester said she didn't know how many shots were fired.

Church officials did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Man is alive at Own Funeral

Just in time for Halloween the walking supposedly dead stumbled into a funeral wake being held for him at his mother’s home in the town of Alagoinhas, Brazil. The Brazilian man, Gilberto Marcos, was found alive at his own funeral after he heard rumors on the street that he was missing his own funeral.
“The confusion started when news started circulating that a car washer had been shot dead,” said Jose Marcos’ wife, Ana Paula according to the nypost.com. “Police called my husband and told him that his brother had been killed and his body was at the morgue.”

Police inspector Roberto Lima explained to news reporters that another body in the morgue was physically similar to Gilberto Marcos and thus began the confusion.
“The two men closely resembled each other and both worked as car washers,” Lima said. ”A friend of Gilberto’s saw him walking down the street and told him that his family was mourning him. So he went to his mother’s home to let everyone know he was very much alive.”
When the dead man walking showed up at his funeral “some people fainted and others were so scared they ran away. It was a big shock,” family friend Maria Menezes told news reporters.
Gilberto’s mother, Marina Santana, was overwhelmed but said, “I am overjoyed. What mother wouldn’t be after being told that her son is dead and then sees him alive.”

Slithering theater theif

A Pennsylvania man was convicted of slithering around theater floors and stealing moviegoers' wallets and purses.

Anthony Johnson, 49, may have taken as much as $70,000 per week, according to authorities. Along with his accomplices, Johnson used the stolen credit cards and IDs to secure cash advances at local casinos. They also purchased thousands of dollars worth of goods from area retailers.

An accomplice testified against Johnson and detailed how the thefts occurred. Because the crimes necessitated purses on the floor, Johnson and a female accomplice would often buy tickets to female-oriented films like "Eat, Pray, Love" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." The pair sat in seats that allowed them a clear view of where the female patrons stored their handbags.

According to courtroom testimony, once the lights went down and the movie started, "Johnson crawled on the floor, removed credit cards from the stored purses, and returned the wallet to the purses." Johnson would then buy things like gift cards, iPods, and sunglasses and sell them at discounted prices. Johnson had equipment that he used to make fake IDs to match the credit cards.

Now the jig is up. Johnson will be sentenced on January 14. He faces up to 10 years in prison on each of the seven charges of stealing credit cards. He also faces additional years behind bars due to his identity theft convictions. Perhaps the toughest punishment of all--the memories of watching "Eat, Pray, Love" who knows how many times.

Taking to twitter to post her self modeled photo shoot of her new ‘do, the Ev sported a smokey bedroom eye and killer locks. Looking like a new woman, the reality star displays a whole new lease of confidence; perhaps she is trying to bag a new man?
Speaking of a new man, Ev recently accepted the invitation of a Michigan teen to attend his high-school’s prom.

The smitten young man tweeted the ex-wife of Chad Johnson, indicating since she is now single, she should attend his prom. He sweetly tweeted, “since your single now, wanna go to prom with me,” to which she responded, “when is it? lol.”
After a few brief exchanges – with Anthony’s Twitter followers and friends encouraging Evelyn to go for it – Anthony only had one additional request – that Evelyn wear a red dress. The “Basketball Wife” tweeted the new envy of West Bloomfield High that it was a done deal – “Send my PR @danikadbagency ur info! I’m going to prom with you buddy & red dress it is!” Anthony happily replied, “Oh it’s on!!!”

He did not elaborate.
Western nations fear Iran may turn its uranium enrichment program toward making weapons, a growing concern as Tehran expands the number of machines it uses to enrich uranium.

South Korean police ban propaganda leaflet launch to North

South Korean police banned activists from sending propaganda leaflets across the heavily militarized border into North Korea on Monday, following last week's threat of attack by Pyongyang if they went ahead.

Police and troops blocked highway exits to the launch site close the demililitarized zone that separates the impoverished North from its affluent neighbor to prevent activists from launching balloons carrying materials denouncing Pyongyang.

The North had warned on Friday that it would fire on the launch site close to its border if the leaflets were sent across the border.

"(South Korean President) Lee Myung-bak woke up this morning and got scared of some immature kid (North Korean leader Kim Jong-un) and decided to stop us," the event's organizer Pak Sang-hak said as he confronted police on the highway.

Defectors and anti-North Korea activists have frequently launched balloons carrying propaganda and cash across the border.

Friday's warning of a "merciless military strike" was the most explicit in months and the first since Kim Jong-un, believed to be 28 years old, took power in December 2011.

South Korea had said it would retaliate against any North Korean attack, raising tensions on the border which separates two countries that remain technically at war because the 1950-53 Korean war ended with only an armistice.

North Korea shelled a South Korean island in November 2010, killing civilians and prompting counter-fire from the South.

Fake Ketchup Factory Discovered!

Officials discovered the fake ketchup factory after tenants complained about flies and rotten odors coming from another part of the 7,000-square-foot warehouse in Dover, N.J. They found thousands of plastic bottles labeled Heinz ketchup, many of which had exploded after Heinz representatives say that they think someone bought large containers of regular Heinz Ketchup and poured it into bottles labeled "Simply Heinz," a higher-priced product made with cane sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup.

"Based on our preliminary investigation, it appears that the unauthorized operation purchased traditional Heinz ketchup and then repackaged the product illegally,"Jessica Jackson, a spokesperson for Heinz North America, said in a statement.

I feel sadness every time I see this boy's face on the news and I can just imagine the pain of grief people are feeling," shares Sandra Champlain, author of the free audio, "How to Survive Grief."
"Due to the current flooding of the Mississippi River, thousands of people have vacated their homes and are now left homeless. In Japan, the death toll from the disaster now surpasses 18,000 and a further 452,000 people are living in shelters, after losing their homes. Grief is being experienced all over the world."
Sandra Champlain knows grief. After the death of her father in 2010 she chose to find out what grief is and why we experience it. "Grief is the most painful emotion known to man, yet it is very rarely spoken about and definitely not taught about in schools. Most people do not understand the grieving process and may stop living themselves when their loved one dies, or worse yet, commit suicide," Sandra shares. "In addition, very often families come apart when someone dies and I had to find out why. I found the reason of how grief impacts the functions of our brain and I chose to create a free audio about it. Everyone should have this information."
According to the National Center for Health Statistics (http://www.cdc.gov), every day in the United States alone there are 6,500 deaths. The U.S. Census Bureau (http://www.census.gov) says that in the world a human death occurs every 1.8 seconds, totaling 155,520 deaths daily.
"Grief lasts on average one year, and if you do the math assuming only 2 people are suffering from each death (of course there are more), there are over 113 million people experiencing the pain from grief daily in the world - that's a lot of pain!" Sandra says. "My goal is to educate the people of what grief is and what purpose it serves for our species. If people understand what happens in the brain during the grieving process, I believe there will be less pain, less suicides, less families will come apart and faster healing will occur."

Iran claims 'dozens' of it's drones reached Israel.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - A senior Iranian military official claimed Tuesday that Iranian-made surveillance drones have made dozens of apparently undetected flights into Israeli airspace from Lebanon in recent years to probe air defenses and collect reconnaissance data. An Israeli official rejected the account.
The Iranian official declined to give further details on the purported missions or the capabilities of the drones, including whether they were similar to the unmanned aircraft launched last week by Lebanon's Hezbollah and downed by Israeli warplanes. It also was impossible to independently verify the claims from the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media.
The Iranian assertions appear to be part of the Islamic Republic's widening strategy to boast about military advances - including warships and longer-range drones - that Tehran says could reorder the balance of power in the region as the West and its allies boost pressure over Iran's nuclear ambitions. Iran's leaders also seek to portray Israel as vulnerable to Tehran and its proxies.
But an Israeli security official rejected the Iranian claims, saying last week's interception of a drone was the first time such an infiltration had occurred. He said Israel spotted the unmanned aircraft well before it entered Israeli airspace, determined it was not "dangerous" and then shot it down over uninhabited desert according to plan. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because an Israeli military investigation is still under way.

It looks like Kim Kardashian is considering channeling her inner-cat for Halloween. The never shy reality star took to Instagram over the weekend posting a rather revealing photo of herself (and her girls) in a leopard print Halloween costume. "Rawwwr!!! "South Park" Lawsuit

South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have gotten themselves in a legal issuet - and this one looks like it might really suck.

Parker and Stone are being sued over their character King Lollipop, which appeared in three episodes in 2009, by a man who claims  the character was stolen from his own show.

Exavier Wardlaw claims that King Lollipop, which was included in the "Imaginationland" trilogy, is based on the Big Bad Lollipop character from "The Lollipop Forest."  Wardlaw's complaint, filed in federal court in Philadelphia, claims financial infringement.

Wardlaw is particularly incensed that his show, which he categorizes as "a wholesome family show," was allegedly appropriated by "South Park," which, um, isn't a wholesome family show.

"The 'South Park' television show and its producers, directors and writers disregarded the public copyright notice and appropriated 'The Lollipop Forest' for financial gain, without permission or attribution of authorship or compensation for use," the complaint reads. "The 'South Park' television broadcast diminished/tarnished the value of 'The Lollipop Forest' as a wholesome family show by association within the context of unwholesome language and sexual innuendo."

Wardlaw is seeking that all alleged references to "The Lollipop Forest" and characters derived from it be removed from the opening titles of the shows featuring King Lollipop.

Zimmerman wants better management of evidence

Attorneys for former neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman said in a motion Monday that prosecutors are dragging their feet on turning over evidence.

Zimmerman's attorneys said prosecutors aren't turning information over in a timely manner and are providing some material in a format that's useless for defense experts to examine. They're asking for monthly hearings to manage the turnover of evidence from prosecutors to defense lawyers.

"The state's approach to discovery has been to require the defense to figure out what the state has failed to provide and then ask for it rather than fulfilling the state's legal obligation to provide complete and timely discovery," attorney Donald West said in the motion.

A spokeswoman for the State Attorney's Office didn't immediately respond to an email and phone call seeking comment.

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin during a confrontation in a central Florida gated community in February.

Zimmerman's attorneys also asked prosecutors for cellphone photos taken by a witness and a police officer on the night of the shooting.

Zimmerman's latest filings come less than a week after his attorneys asked prosecutors for any evidence that might suggest Martin's civil rights were violated by Zimmerman. Martin was black, and Zimmerman has a Peruvian mother and a white father.

Kim Kardashian and her new rapper boo had just finished dinner at Prime 112 in Miami, when one of the sea of paparazzi got brave enough to ask about Kimmy's ex Reggie Bush, who was enjoying his own meal right across the street.

Turns out that this didn't go over well for the "White Dress" rapper. Yeezy got so angry, he tried to snatch the camera from the female paparazzi, while a super sexy Kim looked on and held her man back.
According to TMZ:

Kanye and Kim Kardashian were leaving a dinner date in Miami Beach, when the photog -- NOT OURS -- shouted, "Kim did you know Reggie is here [in Miami] having dinner?"
The pap continued, "Did you wanna go congratulate him on his pregnancy?"
That's when Kanye snapped -- angrily rushing after the female pap after grasping for her camera -- but never actually striking the woman.

In the flicks, you can clearly see the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star a bit amused by the whole thing, while she calms Kanye down by holding onto his arm.

Woman arrested for setting fire to vending machine.

NEW BERN, N.C. – A New Bern woman was arrested after a surveillance camera recorded her setting fire to a vending machine outside a grocery store. According to WCTI, Debra Johnson was arrested Monday in connection with the incident, which occurred shortly before 1:45 a.m. Saturday. Police told the station that Johnson set fire to a soda machine outside the Piggly Wiggly store on Tatum Drive. The incident was recorded by a surveillance camera. The video shows the suspect kicking the machine before lighting the fire. After starting the fire, the suspect grabs a drink from another machine and walks away. Minutes later, flames can be seen shooting from the machine. Authorities say about $35 worth of change melted in the small blaze. Johnson reportedly told the judge in her first court appearance that she didn’t need a lawyer. She was given a second court date slated for next week after refusing to pay a $10,000 bond. WCTI reports Johnson has a criminal history, however this is the first time she’s been charged with a felony.

At the most resent Pep Rally for Waverly High School, located in Waverly NY, the usual fanfare of cheering for the home team to get them ready was in full swing. As the rally progressed you had your usual cheers and rally cries for the fall sports teams and the football team. It seemed to have done well, with Waverly defeating their opponent 70-21. But what happened at that pep rally went much farther than simple cheers. Three white students were to perform a skit in black face, depicting Chris Brown and Rhianna most notibly. In this skit they would display acts of domestic violence as satire to an audience that included not only students but parents, faculty, and various members of the media and community leaders. None of them stopped the skit. Now former students of Waverly High School are questioning how this was allowed to happen.” I think it’s unconscionable that such blatant racism has been tacitly approved two years in a row,” says Waverly alumni and Yale graduate Vlad Chituc. “The administration should be creating an environment where minorities are welcome, not the butts of racist jokes that make light of domestic violence.”
Fellow former Waverly student Hannah Van Wie-Desisti shared sentiments with her former schoolmate:
“I used to be so proud of where I came from. Not so much now due to the recent incident. I found it unfathomable that the faculty would not only approve this idea for the skit in the first place, but allow it to go on during the pep rally. I honestly don’t believe that the students meant to offend, but were just ill informed of how offending their skit actually was. The staff should have stopped it before it even started. By acting like the skit was acceptable, they are teaching their students that racism is okay and that abuse is humorous. The whole thing outraged me and made me so disappointed in the school that I was once loved.”
The offensive nature of what took place is made even more concerning know that in order for a skit to take place at the rally it had to be OK’ed by the administration of the school. A comment from the school district was not available at this time.

Anyone that saw Rihanna’s face after the fact knows that there is nothing to laugh at, and to reenact the skit in blackface is just the racist cherry on top.

New Orleans Style Praline Pumpkin Pie

In honor of  New Orleans, the fall season and most especially my mother who loved to cook.

INGREDIENTS:

Pie crust: 1 1/2 c. flour, 2 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt, 3/4 c. shortening and 4 T. ice cold water.
Filling: 1 1/2 C. canned pumpkin, 1 c. light brown sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp ginger, dash of cloves and freshly ground nutmeg, 3 eggs, 1 cup milk and 1 cup half and half
Praline Topping: 3/4 C. brown sugar, 1/4 C. softened butter, 1 c. pecan halves and 1 T. half and half.

 PREPARATION:

Crust: Combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in shortening and ice water to form ball. Chill. Roll out on floured surface and line 9 inch pie plate. Crimp edge and prick shell with fork. Bake at 450 x 7 to 8 min. Cool. Filling: Combine all ingredients and fill cooled crust. Bake in lower 1/2 of oven at 425 x 15 min. Reduce heat to 350 and cont. baking x 40 min. Cool on rack. Praline: Cream butter and sugar and add pecans and 1/2 and 1/2. Spread on cooled pie and broil until browned and bubbly. Cool. Serve slightly warm or at room temp.
