Syrian jets bombarded Sunni Muslim regions in Damascus and around the country on Sunday, activists said, as President Bashar al-Assad kept up air strikes against rebels despite a U.N.-brokered truce that now appears to be in tatters.

• 6 oz Crown Royal
• 3 oz Rose's sweetened lime juice
• 2 cups Ice

Mixing instructions:

Into a mason jar filled with cracked ice, pour 6 oz Canadian Whisky and 3 oz Sweetened lime juice. Stir with a fork.

Marcus Lattimore

The South Carolina running back, who tore an ACL last year and battled all the way back, suffered an injury that looked as ugly as any we've ever seen.

Lattimore, considered one of if not the top running back for next year's NFL Draft had he decided to come out a year early, was running to his left. Tennessee defensive back Eric Gordon tackled him low, and Lattimore's leg collapsed. When he went down, replays showed what clearly looked like a dislocation in his leg. It was a terrible injury that will be remembered alongside Joe Theismann, Napoleon McCallum, Tyrone Prothro and many other grisly injuries that serve as a reminder how violent football can be.

Natina Reed hit and killed by car in Georgia

 Natina Reed, a member of the R&B singing trio Blaque, was struck and killed by a car as she walked in a major roadway in Georgia, police said on Saturday.

Reed, who also appeared in the cheerleader movie "Bring It On" in 2000, would have turned 33 on Sunday.

She was struck by a car at about 10:30 p.m. Friday on a state highway just north of the Atlanta suburb of Lilburn, Gwinnett County Police Sergeant Rich Long said.

The car's driver called 911 and a passenger performed CPR but Reed was pronounced dead at an area medical centre, police said. Authorities ruled the driver was not at fault and no charges were expected to be filed, Long said.

Investigators were trying to determine why Reed was in the road, Long said.

As part of Blaque, Reed performed the 1999 hits "Bring It All to Me" and "808" with fellow members Shamari Fears DeVoe and Brandi Williams.

Reed's fellow group members said in a statement on Saturday that Blaque had recently reunited and the group was working on an album and a reality show.

"My world as I know it has forever changed," DeVoe said on Twitter on Saturday. "Until we meet again, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel. I love you Natina."

Gunmen opens fire in College Park Church

Police say one person was critically wounded when a gunman opened fire inside the chapel of a Georgia megachurch just south of Atlanta.

Fulton County Police Cpl. Kay Lester says the suspect got away in a vehicle, and was still at large around 11 a.m. Wednesday after the shooting at World Changers Church International.

The church is one of the nation's largest. It is led by the Rev. Creflo Dollar, its founder and senior pastor. There was no indication that he was injured.

Lester said she didn't know how many shots were fired.

Church officials did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Man is alive at Own Funeral

Just in time for Halloween the walking supposedly dead stumbled into a funeral wake being held for him at his mother’s home in the town of Alagoinhas, Brazil. The Brazilian man, Gilberto Marcos, was found alive at his own funeral after he heard rumors on the street that he was missing his own funeral.
“The confusion started when news started circulating that a car washer had been shot dead,” said Jose Marcos’ wife, Ana Paula according to the nypost.com. “Police called my husband and told him that his brother had been killed and his body was at the morgue.”

Police inspector Roberto Lima explained to news reporters that another body in the morgue was physically similar to Gilberto Marcos and thus began the confusion.
“The two men closely resembled each other and both worked as car washers,” Lima said. ”A friend of Gilberto’s saw him walking down the street and told him that his family was mourning him. So he went to his mother’s home to let everyone know he was very much alive.”
When the dead man walking showed up at his funeral “some people fainted and others were so scared they ran away. It was a big shock,” family friend Maria Menezes told news reporters.
Gilberto’s mother, Marina Santana, was overwhelmed but said, “I am overjoyed. What mother wouldn’t be after being told that her son is dead and then sees him alive.”
The man whose body was found in the morgue was eventually identified as Genivaldo Santos Gama. Police inspector Roberto Lima said “further information on Gama

Slithering theater theif

A Pennsylvania man was convicted of slithering around theater floors and stealing moviegoers' wallets and purses.

Anthony Johnson, 49, may have taken as much as $70,000 per week, according to authorities. Along with his accomplices, Johnson used the stolen credit cards and IDs to secure cash advances at local casinos. They also purchased thousands of dollars worth of goods from area retailers.

An accomplice testified against Johnson and detailed how the thefts occurred. Because the crimes necessitated purses on the floor, Johnson and a female accomplice would often buy tickets to female-oriented films like "Eat, Pray, Love" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." The pair sat in seats that allowed them a clear view of where the female patrons stored their handbags.

According to courtroom testimony, once the lights went down and the movie started, "Johnson crawled on the floor, removed credit cards from the stored purses, and returned the wallet to the purses." Johnson would then buy things like gift cards, iPods, and sunglasses and sell them at discounted prices. Johnson had equipment that he used to make fake IDs to match the credit cards.

Now the jig is up. Johnson will be sentenced on January 14. He faces up to 10 years in prison on each of the seven charges of stealing credit cards. He also faces additional years behind bars due to his identity theft convictions. Perhaps the toughest punishment of all--the memories of watching "Eat, Pray, Love" who knows how many times.

Taking to twitter to post her self modeled photo shoot of her new ‘do, the Ev sported a smokey bedroom eye and killer locks. Looking like a new woman, the reality star displays a whole new lease of confidence; perhaps she is trying to bag a new man?
Speaking of a new man, Ev recently accepted the invitation of a Michigan teen to attend his high-school’s prom.

The smitten young man tweeted the ex-wife of Chad Johnson, indicating since she is now single, she should attend his prom. He sweetly tweeted, “since your single now, wanna go to prom with me,” to which she responded, “when is it? lol.”
After a few brief exchanges – with Anthony’s Twitter followers and friends encouraging Evelyn to go for it – Anthony only had one additional request – that Evelyn wear a red dress. The “Basketball Wife” tweeted the new envy of West Bloomfield High that it was a done deal – “Send my PR @danikadbagency ur info! I’m going to prom with you buddy & red dress it is!” Anthony happily replied, “Oh it’s on!!!”

Ev later took to her blog to confirm the big dance:

I have to say that I’m very excited because I was just asked to the prom by one of my Twitter followers named Anthony and I gladly accepted! The reason why I’m so excited is because I never had the opportunity to attend my own prom. During that time of my life, I was becoming a teenage mom and pregnant with my daughter Shaniece.

Iran to have Nuclear weapons soon,..?

PARIS -- France's foreign minister says Iran appears on track to reach the ability to produce a nuclear weapon by the first half of next year.

France is one of six countries that have negotiated with Tehran over its nuclear program, which Iran insists is peaceful.
Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius told Europe-1 radio Sunday that unspecified experts "have established in an absolutely indisputable way" that Iran has compiled a full array of centrifuges that "apparently will allow the ability to go toward possession of the nuclear weapon by the first half of next year, the end of the first half." He did not elaborate.
Western nations fear Iran may turn its uranium enrichment program toward making weapons, a growing concern as Tehran expands the number of machines it uses to enrich uranium.

South Korean police ban propaganda leaflet launch to North

South Korean police banned activists from sending propaganda leaflets across the heavily militarized border into North Korea on Monday, following last week's threat of attack by Pyongyang if they went ahead.

Police and troops blocked highway exits to the launch site close the demililitarized zone that separates the impoverished North from its affluent neighbor to prevent activists from launching balloons carrying materials denouncing Pyongyang.

The North had warned on Friday that it would fire on the launch site close to its border if the leaflets were sent across the border.

"(South Korean President) Lee Myung-bak woke up this morning and got scared of some immature kid (North Korean leader Kim Jong-un) and decided to stop us," the event's organizer Pak Sang-hak said as he confronted police on the highway.

Defectors and anti-North Korea activists have frequently launched balloons carrying propaganda and cash across the border.

Friday's warning of a "merciless military strike" was the most explicit in months and the first since Kim Jong-un, believed to be 28 years old, took power in December 2011.

South Korea had said it would retaliate against any North Korean attack, raising tensions on the border which separates two countries that remain technically at war because the 1950-53 Korean war ended with only an armistice.

North Korea shelled a South Korean island in November 2010, killing civilians and prompting counter-fire from the South.
